Hi! I’m Montana Jones! I’m a New York–based performer, storyteller, and creative currently pursuing a BFA in Drama at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, with a minor in Business of Entertainment, Media, and Technology. I began my training at the New Studio on Broadway, where I studied musical theatre performance, and I am now continuing my artistic development at the Experimental Theatre Wing, deepening my work in devised theatre, movement, and ensemble-based performance. I also studied abroad in London at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art studying Shakespeare in Performance where I expanded my classical training and immersed myself  in the city’s vibrant theatre scene.

Rooted in both musical theatre and dramatic storytelling, my work is driven by emotional truth, curiosity, and a love for performance that connects deeply with audiences. My training spans acting, voice, movement, dance, songwriting, guitar playing, and performance creation, allowing me to approach each role with both discipline and imagination. A songwriter as well as a performer, I write my own original songs–I’d say that my sound is as if Noah Kahan, Phoebe Bridgers, and Zach Bryan had a kid. As an artist, I am especially drawn to stories that center identity, transformation, humor, heartbreak, and the complexity of young womanhood. 

Beyond performing, I’m passionate about the ways stories live beyond the stage. In 2021, I founded “Shoot for the Moon, Land Amongst the Stars” a summer program for Inner-city youth in Detroit geared at teaching young people how to find their voices and become advocates in their communities through the performing arts. I also have experience in social media marketing and entertainment strategy, creating digital content for theatre and arts organizations while exploring how performance, branding, and audience engagement intersect. Outside of my artistic endeavors, I enjoy taking [solidcore] classes, traveling around the world, discovering new music, and finding inspiration in the people and places around me.
